General Description

Fountain of Fire Idol 2.jpg

The Fonts of Fire are ancient structures built by the Doltecs to harness the power of the magma flows that run through their lands. These fonts have a multi armed channels, all connected to a central column. The basins are typically made of volcanic stone and surrounded by intricate carvings, glyphs and symbols that represent the Doltec culture and their connection to the fiery earth.

The Fonts of Fire are believed to have been used by Doltec Tamaya flutists to craft what their subconscious hearts desired, allowing them to tap into the raw energy of the lava and use it to create complex expressive objects, tools, instruments and many other mysterious artifacts. The Tamaya flutes themselves are made from the horns of fire lizards, a creature that is sacred to the Doltecs and revered for its association with the Fonts of Fire.

The Fonts of Fire are also the site of many Doltec cultural traditions and ceremonies. During certain festivals, offerings of volcanic ash and rare minerals are poured into the fonts which react with a beautiful bursts of colour. This is seen as a way of honoring the spirits of the earth and seeking their blessings for the coming year. The fonts are also believed to have healing properties, and those seeking relief from physical ailments or spiritual distress may cast ash or offerings into the fire to receive blessings from the fire spirits.

Despite their age and mysterious origins, the Fonts of Fire remain a central part of Doltec culture and society. They are seen as a physical manifestation of the power of the earth and a connection between the Doltecs and their ancestors who first settled in the fiery lands.
